Smart glasses ask more of a lens than anything before them new materials, embedded electronics, waveguides and coatings, all still expected to survive an impact test. That is where our newest equipment goes first.

the chances are the solution is already on our floor.
What we are strict about is whose equipment it is;
every line we carry is one we can install, calibrate, service and train on from Hong Kong.

Most enquiries start with a certificate. Tell us the standard your product has to meet:
ISO, ANSI, EN or AS/NZS and we will tell you which benches it takes to get there. Sunglasses, safety eyewear and ski goggles each carry their own set of requirements. Smart eyewear has no standard of its own yet, so we test it by property instead: clarity, transmittance and colour, optical performance. Those are the measurements the standard will be written from when it arrives.

LENS INSPECTION BY THE STANDARD

The trace is a spectral transmittance measurement, what a spectrophotometer actually reports, and the shaded band is the transmittance the standard allows. The last step is not a product standard at all, but the test method every one of the others calls on.
